Hindsight is always 2020

2020 is a defining year that we will look back to as a significant year where life as we know it changed. There are many lessons before us and now is the time to make changes that will forever make our society a just and equitable place for all. This site is a collection of my thoughts and experiences in hopes that us white folks can have new eyes to see the reality of racism in our society and hopefully be empowered to live differently.

Many white people ask what they can do when it comes to racism, and we need to shift to thinking of racial justice as a life-long journey. The last several years I have seen bobby pins everywhere. Instead of freaking out over this weird phenomenon I now pray for the abused whenever I see one. Just as bobby pins are hidden in plain sight so are the abused in our society. Racism is also abuse! The trauma of racial abuse is alive and well in our society and yet it is hidden in plain site for many white folks. Hopefully through these reflections we can have new eyes to see the reality of this abuse in our society and work together to change our role in that abuse.
